Use of Rectifier duty transformers for heavy load industries

Today, rectifier duty transformers performing special industrial loads are more appreciable as compared to conventional transformers. The transformers are used across various industrial sectors to perform wide variety of functions like chemical industries, manufacturing plants, foundries, refineries etc. Designing and manufacturing rectifier duty transformer can seem daunting. The manufacturing process includes complex winding arrangements, constant direct current maintenance, excellent heating effects, additional loses, stray field effects etc.

In case, current manufacturing requirement has been increased, you need to join two rectifier duty transformers together.  They are joined parallel through inter-phase transformer and current flow is also managed by inter-phase transformer only. The voltage is equally divided between two transformers. For high rated rectifier duty transformer, high current flow can result into unwanted stray loses in structural parts fabricated through magnetic steel. This is the reason why structural parts should be fabricated using non magnetic steel.

Diode rectifier is the main source for combination of rectifier duty transformers. From large size of aluminium electrolysis down to the way of average size process these types of transformers is much useful for bigger industries. It made from built in regulation voltage unit. With the voltage combination of this transformer it used in wide array of heavy loaded industries. It is available in various kinds of properties like  inter-phase reactors, phase shifting, filter winding and so on. It have speciality for circuit configuration, Seismic classifications, Copper or aluminum wound, Multiple pulse applications and many more.

Pulse numbers are decided through harmonic considerations in case of rectifier duty transformer. This is the reason why more elaborate calculations are needed for modern transformers as compared to conventional transformers. The transformer should be designed with adequate space in between the primary and secondary winding. In case, gap is not sufficient the winding arrangement may result into high eddy loses.

Because of chances of large manufacturing faults, rectifier duty transformer should be designed and manufactured carefully. Once parts are manufactured separately, their integration should be performed wisely. Before it is deployed to end customer, each part and component should be tested carefully by quality control team. A careful inspection assures guaranteed results and a satisfied product for the customer. There are plenty of supplier and manufacturers of industrial transformers  in India selling quality transformers to their clients. The transformers can also be customized as per customer requirements. For a reliable deal of quality transformer in India, it is better to search on-line.

Rectifier duty transformer is a special type not easily available everywhere. There are only few suppliers distributing rectifier transformers in India. In this situation, you have to be extra smart before making any final selection. Also check the background and feedback of the Company for better satisfaction and a quality product.

  2. A Rectifier Transformer may have built-in or a separate voltage regulation unit. Due to a large variety of applications, they can have various designs up to a combination of voltage regulation, Rectifier Transformers in double-stack configuration, phase-shifting, interphase reactors, transductros and filter-winding.
